Cavy
Care

A guinea pig can be
one of the most endearing and wonderful pets. They may live as long as 9
years (the average is 5 to 7), so the decision to bring one into your home
must be made carefully.
"As
with all animals, guinea pigs need exercise for health and stimulating
enjoyment, so a safe area to run in and explore needs to be considered."

C
& C Cages
(Cubes &
Corflute/Coroplast)
We recommend these types
of cages for your pet guinea pigs as store bought cages are way too small
and guinea pigs need lots of room to run and play!
Here are photos of the cage we made and have adjusted many times!
We bought our grids cubes from Bunnings
Warehouse and the corflute base was purchased from Plastix.
We use polar fleece for the floor or carpet mats / runners.
Combined with a large litter tray/feeding area (as they generally 'go'
when they eat) cavies can be easily
toilet trained and makes a very low mess, easy to maintain cage for your
piggies!
These are the type of grids which the cage is made from:

Double Story

Put the
hay rack/ feeding area in litter tray to litter train guinea pigs

Floor Mats
are great and can be easily washed

Even the rabbit likes his
big cage
